Dear Neighbors,

As a lifelong resident of Park Forest, I’ve always believed in the power of community and the importance of supporting one another. Growing up on Sangamon Street, I benefited from the many resources our village offered, and now I want to give back by serving as a member of the Park Forest Library Board.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with nonprofits across the country, helping to develop programs that strengthen communities and provide essential services to families. From the Alzheimer’s Association to the Chicago Public Education Fund, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside passionate leaders and organizations dedicated to making a difference. But no matter where my work has taken me, Park Forest has always been my home.

As we look toward the future, I believe our village has an incredible opportunity to set a new standard for the Southland—and the library is a perfect place to start. Our library is more than a place to borrow books; it’s a community hub that can help connect residents to vital services, promote lifelong learning, and even draw tourism and interest to our village. By expanding our programming and investing in the library’s role in the community, we can showcase Park Forest as a leader in innovation and support for residents.

My vision for Park Forest is one where we work together to ensure every family has access to the resources they need to thrive. I’m committed to making sure our library continues to serve as a model for what’s possible, both for our village and for communities throughout the Southland.

Let’s work together to make Park Forest a place where families thrive, and our community leads the way.

Vote Joshua Justin Travis, for the Park Forest Library Board on April 1st, 2025, and let’s build a stronger future together!
